AFL Sunday Funday @ Adelaide Oval

Sunday Funday returns with a bang in 2018 where kids General Admission will once again be free on Sundays.

 

Children under 15 years can experience live some of the most exciting AFL games this season for FREE when accompanied by an adult or guardian.

 

Sunday Funday encourages families and young fans to connect with the game. Kids can watch their heroes from the sidelines and cheer their team loud and proud.

 

With plenty of pre and post-game activities for everyone to enjoy, including the Woolworths Playground and Macca’s Kick 2 Kick after the final siren, there has never been a better time for families to head to the footy and watch your team battle it out in season 2018.

 

Adelaide Oval plays host to three Sunday Funday games, including potential finals matchups Adelaide v GWS (Round 11) and Port Adelaide v GWS (Round 18).

 

  • Round 11 – Adelaide v GWS
  • Round 18 – Port Adelaide v GWS
  • Round 22 – Adelaide v North Melbourne

Broncos on the Road: Adelaide

This May, for the first time ever, the Brisbane Broncos will be landing in Adelaide! Headlining the event will be a star-studded rugby league line-up of Darius Boyd, Matt Gillett and Wendell Sailor.

Join us on Friday 25 May for a three-course dinner and an evening of entertainment as these rugby league superstars preview the 2018 season, giving their insight into how Wayne Bennett will drive the Broncos to the 2018 NRL Grand Final.

Proceeds raised from the raffle on the evening will be donated to South Australian Junior Rugby League and every guest attending will go home with a 2018 Broncos Captains Membership.

Stadium Stomp Adelaide Oval

Stadium Stomp returns to the iconic Adelaide Oval with a new Autumn date of Sunday 20th May. The 2018 event will also see the introduction of two new Stomp categories – Short Course and Junior Stomp, both offering a taste of Stadium Stomp over a condensed course of 1,000 steps.

Climb your way up, down and around the bays of Adelaide Oval in this 6,000 (or 1,000) step stair climb. There will be rest stops (pick a seat!), drink stations and pumping music playing to keep you focused and energised. Plus, you’ll finish with a lap of the ground. Get ready Adelaide!

If you’re looking for something different for your next fitness challenge, something other than a fun run or bruising obstacle race, look no further than Stadium Stomp Adelaide Oval.

Stadium Stomp is suitable for participants of all fitness levels – choose your course and set your own pace.  Anyone 12 years or older can enter individually or as part of a team with friends, family or workmates. Younger participants, aged 5-11 years can enter the Junior Stomp category and Stomp at 11.15am accompanied by a registered adult.

Stadium Stomp supports official Charity Partner, the Leukaemia Foundation and participants are encouraged to make every step count and fundraise for this amazing charity, or alternatively a cause close to their heart.

First Auditions Come and Try Quidditch Session

YES Quidditch is a real thing! Are you a Harry Potter fan? Are you looking for a unique and different sport to play? Then this event is for you!

Join us for our first come and try session this year!

We will be running some drills and games to showcase the different positions in Quidditch.

Arrive by 3:15 for sign in and a welcome chat, with training starting at 3:30.

Wear sports gear, sports shoes and don’t forget water, sunscreen and any personal medication needed.

The day will be lead by head coach Cindy, who has had experience playing and coaching Quidditch all around the world. On top of that she was one of the selectors for the Australian Dropbears 2018 World Cup team.

All skill and fitness levels are welcome as well as spectators!

This session is for the Adult Augureys team which is ages 16+

Special Olympics National Games

This April, Adelaide will host the 11th Special Olympics Australia National Games, showcasing the skills and sportsmanship from the country’s best intellectually disabled athletes.

Four days of competition will see over 1,000 athletes competing across 11 sporting disciplines, all vying for the opportunity to represent Team Australia, traveling to Abu Dhabi for the 2019 Special Olympic World Summer Games.

The National Games will start with the Opening Ceremony held on Monday, the 16th of April at Titanium Security Arena and convene with a Closing Ceremony on Friday, the 20th of April.

The days will be made up of fierce competition from athletes across different sites throughout Adelaide. Get down and show your support for these incredible and inspiring athletes.
