WINEMAKER IN RESIDENCE PROGRAM AT THE STATION TO FEATURE TOP 100-LISTED JEREMY OTTAWA

The Station at Kapunda will host its second Winemaker in Residence program in July and October 2024, featuring Jeremy Ottawa from Barossa Valley winery Chateau Tanunda.

The three-day program at The Station, a premium accommodation housed in a former train station from 1860, is an intensive look at all things wine, from winemaking and blending to pairing.

Owner, Bridget Kimber, says Jeremy’s recent inclusion in a top 100 winemakers list (compiled by UK publication The Drinks Business) was testament to his immense knowledge of all things wine.

“Jeremy is such an amazing winemaker, and the recent accolade really cements this,” says Bridget. “We’ve been lucky to collaborate with him for this year’s residency and he’s going to bring something very special to guests taking part in the program.”

The Winemaker in Residence program includes luxury group accommodation at The Station, all meals (including chef-prepared dinners with matched wines), and varied wine experiences.

Blending workshops to create take-home wines, tours of Barossa Valley sub-regions and grenache and shiraz varietal masterclasses held by Jeremy will really enhance the palettes of those who attend.

Romanticism will fill the air – and glasses – as guests try fortified wines under the stars and rejuvenate with on-site activities on offer.

Jeremy’s expertise of the Barossa Valley region will allow guests to gain unique behind-the-scenes knowledge. His history and work experience with the area spans more than two decades, including a 19-year stint at St Hallett, his current role at Chateau Tanunda, and the development of his own label – Drifter Wine Co.

The Station, located at Kapunda, one hour north of Adelaide, offers multiple options for solo, couple, and group bookings. Prices start at $1950 all-inclusive, or $1500 per person excluding accommodation.

Dates for the 2024 Winemaker in Residence program are Friday, 12th to Sunday 14th July, and Friday 11th to Sunday 14th October.
