Fringe Review – A Tribute to the Rat Pack ★★★★

On a sunny afternoon, the crowds headed into the unassuming Domain Theatre at the Marion Cultural Centre, glasses of wine in hand. Metaphorical curtains up, and we were met by an incredible 15-ish piece band, a suited on-stage bartender, and the charming threesome who made up today’s tribute to the Rat Pack – Will Metzer, Tony Minniecon, and James Musci.

From The Candy Man, with packets of lollies kindly distributed through the crowd by glamourous assistants, and a rousing New York, New York, to lively sing-a-longs of That’s Amore and King of the Road, the trio made their way through the hits. Each song was complemented with audience interaction, jokes, laughter, and the odd anecdote (which were sometimes a little too meandering or came a across a little too ‘you had to be there’).

Overall, A Tribute to the Rat Pack brought energy and style to the Sunday. We left humming Sway, clutching adorable red chocolate roses, and smiling ear to ear.
