Over 30 events and five headline runways are set to bring fashion up close across the city and North Adelaide from 7-11 October for this year’s ADL Fashion Week. Public tickets go on sale from 10am ACST on Tuesday, 8th September.
Marking the festival’s fifth year, the city-wide program will bring together leading designers, retailers, creatives, and fashion enthusiasts through runways, workshops, conversations, events exploring circular fashion, and fashion-led dining experiences, all connected by this year’s campaign The Threads Between Us.
“ADL Fashion Week showcases the creativity, ambition and talent that define South Australia’s fashion industry. From local designers and emerging labels to nationally recognised brands, this year’s program highlights the connections that strengthen our fashion community while inviting visitors and locals alike to experience Adelaide as a vibrant destination for fashion, culture, dining and events,” says Adelaide Economic Development Agency Executive Manager Marketing and Tourism, Michael Rossi.
“Through an exciting program of runway shows, industry conversations and immersive experiences, we are celebrating the strength of South Australia’s fashion sector while drawing visitors into the city to experience our retailers, hospitality venues and creative talent firsthand,” finishes Rossi.
Kicking off this year’s festival is the SAFIA Industry Breakfast where craft to scale brings together industry perspectives for a candid conversation on balancing creativity and commerce, exploring how brands can navigate growth, new markets and production while protecting the craft, authenticity and ideas at their core, served with a delicious breakfast at Patina Place.
The festival’s headline runway shows open on Thursday, 8th October at Adelaide Town Hall with The South Australian Showcase: The Threads Between Us at 6pm. While e-commerce allows us to reach customers anywhere, there’s something incredibly valuable about connecting in person, understanding the market firsthand and introducing the brand to new audiences. It also marks a significant moment for BY JOHNNY, returning to the runway for the first time in 10 years. To make that return in Adelaide, a city where we’re seeing such exciting growth and opportunity for the brand, feels particularly fitting. We’re excited to bring BY JOHNNY back to the runway, connect with the local fashion community and look towards what’s next for the brand in Adelaide,” says Johnny Schembri, Founder & Creative Director, BY JOHNNY.
