FRINGE REVIEW: Card Ninja ★★★★

New Zealander Javier Jarquin is performing at the Adelaide Fringe as the Card Ninja. He’s a little bit comedy, a little bit stunt man, but definitely not a magician (as he constantly points out to the audience with a running joke throughout the show!).

So what exactly is a card ninja you may ask? Well think your regular ninja, but armed with a deck of cards as a weapon instead of throwing stars, & boy can they be lethal! Jarquin is highly skilled in card manipulation & is able to throw cards with speed & accuracy making it look like complete child’s play. Jarquin goes through the steps that it takes to be a ninja using playing cards to demonstrate, and the result is truly spectacular.
Jarquin effortlessly incorporates the audience into the show and uses them to help demonstrate his high level of skill, making them too honorary card ninjas!

Card Ninja is high energy & fun from the moment Jarquin walks on stage to the moment he exits. It is the perfect show for adults & children, particularly those who enjoy martial arts, & will leave you wondering how on earth he is able to manipulate cards in such a way. No doubt you’ll pull out a deck of cards when you get home & see if you too can be a card ninja!
