Fringe review: Rory Lowe – Beast ★★★★★

Comedy at its finest! Hailing from Middlesbrough in the UK and now residing in Sydney, Rory spends the first part of his show introducing himself and his brilliant storytelling style.

He confesses he’s in a funny spot right now as a comedian. He’s happy and in love. Lowe tells us about life growing up in a rough part of the UK, in a house with four sisters and four generations of women. So clearly he knows what women want, right? Wrong, he admits while demonstrating his point with some audience participation.

Lowe draws us in with his unique stories and larger than life personality, as we hear about him discovering and challenging traditional views of masculinity.

He then brings out the big guns recounting tales of mischief, challenging authority in the name of getting a rise, encounters with gangsters, dumb c*nts and music festival mishaps.

Do yourself a favour and make sure you see Rory Lowe, Beasts whether it’s at the Adelaide Fringe or when he comes back to tour. Lowes english wit, unique narratives, and hilarious and genuine jokster personality absolutely guarantees a f*&#ing funny hour of laughs!
