WOLF BLASS EVENT CENTRE NOW OPEN AT MORPHETTVILLE RACECOURSE AFTER YEAR-LONG CONSTRUCTION

Cleverly appointed and stunningly contemporary, Adelaide’s best and newest function space, is now open at Morphettville.

A name long synonymous with South Australian success on a global scale, the Wolf Blass Event Centre has been named in line with the philanthropic and commercial contribution by the wine great, announced earlier this year.

Morphettville CEO, Grant Mayer, says Morphettville has long been a sleeping giant in Adelaide’s event space, and is perfectly primed as a premier events destination for local, national, and international visitors.

“It’s really an urban oasis with so much space and flex to create any experience our guests are looking to design,” says Mayer. “With this opening we really are living the vision we’ve set to achieve for this organisation, transforming Morphettville into a multi-faceted, thriving destination that delivers vibrant experiences for all,
including but extending beyond, racing.

“Morphettville has been an integral part of the social fabric of Adelaide and South Australia for almost 150 years. The opening of this incredible new facility creates so many opportunities to continue the legacy of Morphettville being THE destination for memorable events and entertainment; elevating us as a contemporary, renowned, must-visit asset to South Australia.”

Between the Adelaide CBD and Glenelg, with a tram stop close by and ample free car parking, the Wolf Blass Event Centre was built in just over a year by Kennett Builders after sods were turned on 24th November 2022.

Funded by the South Australian Jockey Club (SAJC) at a cost of $21 million, the Centre has a versatile and functional interior across two levels, complemented by stellar views of the grounds, racecourse, and the picturesque Adelaide Hills.

The ground floor can hold up to 350 guests, while the first floor has a larger space and can host up to 800, dependant on the four possible arrangements – cabaret style, theatre style, round table, and cocktail.

The capacity and architecture, including showstopping 6m high glass windows and an expansive pillarless space, ensure an incredible wow factor for large scale gala and conferencing events, while also retaining the flexibility of smaller spaces for more intimate, premium inner-sanctum style experiences.

Food options across varied event options from à la carte fine dining to sumptuous canapés come by way of passionately crafted menus. Led by award-winning Executive Chef, Steven Clark, the culinary team endorse fresh, seasonal produce from paddock to plate, with a focus on classic French and modern cooking techniques leaving everyone satisfied.

An extensive beverage list showcases the vast South Australian wine, beer, and spirit industry, with longstanding suppliers including The Lane, Bremerton and Wirra Wirra wineries, Barossa Distilling Co Gin, Thomas Farms Food and Riviera Bakery.

Encore Event Technologies has been appointed as the in-house event partner, providing innovative event service solutions and industry leading technologies tailored specifically to each unique event.

Available for bookings 365 days a year, Morphettville’s Wolf Blass Event Centre will be a delight to guests across corporate functions, weddings, parties and other intimate or large-scale occasions.
